حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ دَاوُدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ لَمْ تَزَلْ تُخْرَجُ زَكَاةُ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَاعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ أَقِطٍ أَوْ زَبِيبٍ.

Yahya told us, from Dawud — meaning Ibn Qays — from 'Iyad, from Abu Sa'id: "The zakat al-fitr continued to be given out in the time of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) as a measure of dates, or barley, or dried curd, or raisins."
