حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَّا أَهْلُ النَّارِ الَّذِينَ هُمْ أَهْلُهَا فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يَمُوتُونَ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَوْنَ وَلَكِنْ نَاسٌ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ تُصِيبُهُمْ النَّارُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ أَوْ قَالَ بِخَطَايَاهُمْ فَيُمِيتُهُمْ إِمَاتَةً حَتَّى إِذَا صَارُوا فَحْمًا أَذِنَ فِي الشَّفَاعَةِ فَجِيءَ بِهِمْ ضَبَائِرَ ضَبَائِرَ ضَبَائِرَ فَنَبَتُوا عَلَى أَنْهَارِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ أَفِيضُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَيَنْبُتُونَ نَبَاتَ الْحِبَّةِ تَكُونُ فِي حَمِيلِ السَّيْلِ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ حِينَئِذٍ كَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ كَانَ بِالْبَادِيَةِ.

Isma'il told us, Sa'id ibn Yazid informed us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "As for the people of the Fire who are its permanent inhabitants, they neither die therein nor live; but as for people — or as he said — the Fire will afflict them for their sins, or he said, for their wrongdoings, and it will cause them to die a death, until when they become charcoal, permission will be given for intercession, and they will be brought in bundles and bundles and bundles, and they will sprout upon the rivers of Paradise. Then it will be said: 'O people of Paradise, pour water upon them,' and they will sprout as a seed sprouts that is carried by the flood." A man among the people then said: "It is as if the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had lived in the desert."
