The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'There were two brothers among the Children of Israel, one of them was a sinner and the other was devout. The devout one continued advising his brother: Desist! One day, he found him committing a sin and said: Desist! The sinner said: Leave me alone and my Lord — were you sent to watch over me? The devout one said: By Allah, Allah will not forgive you! Allah took both their souls, and they met before the Lord of the worlds. He said to the devout one: Were you knowledgeable about Me or had power over what is in My Hand? He said to the sinner: Go and enter Paradise by My mercy. And He said regarding the other: Take him to the Fire.'
