حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلَ وَلَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ أَوْ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتَّبِعُونِي وَلَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا بَعْدِي أَوْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Yazid told us: Muhammad informed us, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, I would love to fight in the way of Allah and be killed, then be brought back to life, then be killed, then be brought back to life, then be killed, then be brought back to life, then be killed. Were it not that I would burden the believers, I would not have stayed behind any expedition setting out or raiding in the way of Allah. But I do not find the means to carry them, nor do they find the means to follow me, nor are their souls content to stay behind me or remain behind after me."
