Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'I was eating hays [a dish of dates, butter, and cheese] with the Prophet (peace be upon him), and Umar passed by. He invited him, and Umar ate. His hand touched my finger, and he said: "If only I were obeyed regarding you women, no eye would see you!" Then the verse of the veil was revealed.'
