حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: إِنْ عِشْتُ نَهَيْتُ أُمَّتِي، إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ، أَنْ يُسَمِّي أَحَدُهُمْ بَرَكَةَ، وَنَافِعًا، وَأَفْلَحَ، وَلاَ أَدْرِي قَالَ: رَافِعًا أَمْ لاَ؟، يُقَالُ: هَا هُنَا بَرَكَةُ؟ فَيُقَالُ: لَيْسَ هَا هُنَا، فَقُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Jabir reported:"The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, 'If I will, I will prohibit my community, if Allah so wills, from any of them taking the name Baraka (blessing), Nafi' (Helper) or Aflah (Most Successful),' and I do not know if he said, Rafi' (one who elevates) or not. Someone asks, 'Is Baraka (blessing) here?' and is told, 'He (or it) is not here.' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) died because he could forbid that (using those names)."
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اگر میں چاہوں تو — ان شاء اللہ — اپنی امت کو منع کر دوں کہ کوئی بَرَکہ (برکت)، نافع (مددگار) یا افلح (کامیاب ترین) نام رکھے۔ اور مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ آپ نے رافع (بلند کرنے والا) کا نام بھی فرمایا یا نہیں۔
