Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10027 حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ خَلَفٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا مَعْشَرَ الشَّبَابِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْبَاءَةِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ أَحْصَنُ لِلْفَرْجِ وَأَغَضُّ لِلْبَصَرِ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَقْدِرْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ فَعَلَيْهِ بِالصَّوْمِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَهُ وِجَاءٌ»
English Translation
Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'O young men, you should marry, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and more protective of the private parts. Whoever cannot afford it should fast, for it will be a restraint for him.'
