English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was brought al-Buraq and he rode it with Jibril. It would raise its hind legs when ascending a mountain and raise its forelegs when descending, until they came to a narrow, foul-smelling land, then to a spacious, pleasant land. He said: 'O Jibril, we were traveling through a narrow, foul land, then to a spacious, pleasant land.' He said: 'That was the land of the Fire, and this is the land of Paradise.' He said: I came upon a man standing in prayer. He said: 'Who is this with you, O Jibril?' He said: 'Your brother Muhammad.' He welcomed him and prayed for blessings and said: 'Ask your Lord for ease for your ummah.' He asked: 'Who is this, O Jibril?' He said: 'Your brother Musa.' He asked: 'Was it him whose voice and complaint were against his Lord?' He said: 'Yes, he is known for that and his intensity.' Then they traveled and he saw lamps and light. He asked: 'Who is this, O Jibril?' He said: 'This is the tree of your father Ibrahim.' He asked: 'May I approach it?' He said: 'Yes.' So they approached it and Ibrahim prayed for blessings and welcomed him. Then they went to Bayt al-Maqdis where he tied the mount to the ring to which the prophets tie, then entered the mosque. The prophets were assembled for him - those whom Allah named in His Book and those He did not - and he led them in prayer.
