Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9793 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ثنا غُنْدَرٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَجَّاجَ بْنَ الْحَجَّاجِ الْبَاهِلِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أُرَاهُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَمَرَهُمْ بِالْإِبْرَادِ بِالظُّهْرِ؛ فَإِنَّ الْحَرَّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hadrami narrated to us, from Ubaydullah ibn Umar al-Qawariri, from Ghundar, from Shu'bah who said: I heard al-Hajjaj ibn al-Hajjaj al-Bahili narrating from his father - who had companionship (with the Prophet) - from a man among the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), whom I believe was Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered them to delay the Zuhr prayer (until it cools down), for the heat is from the exhalation of Hellfire.
