Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9412 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زُهَيْرٌ ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ يُنَادِي بِهَا نِدَاءً «الْوِتْرُ مَا بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ الَّتِي تُسَمُّونَ الْعَتَمَةَ وَصَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ مَتَى أَوْتَرْتَ فَحَسَنٌ»
English Translation
Al-Aswad ibn Hilal said: 'I bear witness regarding Abdullah ibn Mas'ud that I heard him proclaim it loudly: "The Witr is between the two prayers — the last Isha prayer, which you call al-'Atamah, and the Fajr prayer. Whenever you pray Witr (within that time), it is fine."'
