Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9091 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي عَبْدُ اللهِ «هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا حَفَدَةٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ هُمْ حُفَّادُ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ وَوَلَدِ وَلَدِهِ قَالَ «لَا هُمُ الْأَصْهَارُ»
English Translation
Abdullah said to me (Zirr): "Do you know what hafadah means?" I said: 'Yes, they are the grandchildren of a man from his children and grandchildren.' He said: "No, they are the sons-in-law (al-ashar)."
