English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud said: 'Seek knowledge before it is taken away, and its being taken away is the departure of its people. Seek knowledge, for none of you knows when he will be in need of what he possesses. Seek knowledge, but beware of affectation and going to extremes. Hold fast to the ancient way, for there will come people who recite the Book of Allah but cast it behind their backs.'
