English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud said: 'The parable of minor sins is like a group of travelers who stopped at a barren land and had food that could only be prepared with fire. They scattered, and one brought a piece of dung, another brought a bone, and another brought a stick, until they gathered enough to cook their food. Likewise, the one who commits minor sins tells a lie here, commits a sin there, and they accumulate until perhaps Allah will cast him on his face into the Fire of Hell.'
