Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8762 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ زَعَمَ خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «يَوْمًا وَأَكْثَرُوا عَلَيْهِ» فَقَالَ «يَا حَارُّ بْنُ قَيْسٍ لِلْحَارِثِ مَا تُرَاهُمْ يُرِيدُونَ إِلَى مَا يَسْأَلُونَ عَنْهُ؟» قَالَ §لِيَعْلَمُوهُ ثُمَّ يَتْرُكُوهُ قَالَ
English Translation
'Abdullah was asked many questions one day. He said to al-Harith ibn Qays: "O Harith, what do you think they want from all their questions?" He said: "To learn and then abandon it." 'Abdullah said: "You have spoken the truth."
