Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8724 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ §يُقْرِئُ رَجُلًا فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى إِلَى شَاطِئِ الْفُرَاتِ فَبَالَ فَكَفَّ عَنْهُ الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكَ؟» قَالَ أَحْدَثْتَ قَالَ «اقْرَأْ» فَجَعَلَ يَقْرَأُ وَجَعَلَ يَفْتَحُ عَلَيْهِ
English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud was teaching a man the Quran. When he reached the bank of the Euphrates, he relieved himself. The man stopped. He asked: "What is wrong?" The man said: "You have broken your wudu." He said: "Recite." And he continued prompting him while the man recited.
