Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8564 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ جَاءَ عَتْرِيسُ بْنُ عُرْقُوبٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ فَقَالَ هَلَكَ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ فَقَالَ «بَلْ هَلَكَ مَنْ لَمْ يَعْرِفْ قَلْبُهُ الْمَعْرُوفَ وَيُنْكِرْ قَلْبُهُ الْمُنْكَرَ»
English Translation
'Atris ibn 'Urqub al-Shaybani came to 'Abdullah and said: "Destroyed is the one who does not enjoin good and forbid evil." 'Abdullah said: "Rather, destroyed is the one whose heart does not recognize good and whose heart does not denounce evil."
