Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8551 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «لَيْسَ عَامٌ إِلَّا الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ وَلَا عَامٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ عَامٍ وَلَا أُمَّةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ وَلَكِنْ ذَهَابُ خِيَارِكُمْ وَعُلَمَائِكُمْ وَيُحَدِّثُ قَوْمٌ يَقِيسُونَ الْأُمُورَ بِرَأْيِهِمْ فَيَنْهَدِمُ الْإِسْلَامُ وَيَنْثَلِمُ»
English Translation
'Abdullah said: "There is no year except that the one after it is worse. Not that one year is better than another, nor one nation better than another, but rather it is the departure of your best and your scholars. Then people will come who measure things by their own opinions, and Islam will be demolished and crumble."
