Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8175 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا أَبُو جَنَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَخْرَةَ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَوْمِ طَارِقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي بِسُوقِ ذِي الْمَجَازِ إِذْ مَرَّ رَجُلٌ شَابٌّ عَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ مِنْ بُرْدٍ أَحْمَرَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ تُفْلِحُوا وَرَجُلٌ خَلْفَهُ يَرْمِيَهِ قَدْ أَدْمَى عُرْقُوبَيْهِ وَسَاقَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ كَذَّابٌ فَلَا تُطِيعُوهُ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا هَذَا غُلَامُ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ الَّذِي يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهَذَا عَمُّهُ عَبْدُ الْعُزَّى فَلَمَّا هَاجَرَ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَسْلَمَ النَّاسُ ارْتَحَلْنَا مِنَ الرَّبَذَةِ يَوْمَئِذٍ مَعَنَا ظَعِينَةٌ لَنَا فَلَمَّا أَتَيْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ وَأَدَنَّا حِيطَانَهَا لَبِسْنَا ثِيَابًا غَيْرَ ثِيَابِنَا إِذَا رَجُلٌ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ أَقْبَلَ الْقَوْمُ؟ قُلْنَا نَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا مِنْ تَمْرِهَا وَلَنَا جَمَلٌ أَحْمَرُ قَائِمٌ مَخْطُومٌ قَالَ تَبِيعُونِي جَمَلَكُمْ؟ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ بِكَمْ؟ قُلْنَا بِكَذَا وَكَذَا صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَمَا اسْتَنْقَصَنَا مِمَّا قُلْنَا شَيْئًا وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ فَأَخَذَ خِطَامَ الْجَمَلِ ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ بِهِ فَلَمَّا تَوَارَى عَنَّا بِالْحِيطَانِ قُلْنَا وَاللهِ مَا صَنَعْنَا شَيْئًا وَبَايَعْنَا مَنْ لَا نَعْرِفُ قَالَ تَقُولُ امْرَأَةٌ جَالِسَةٌ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا كَأَنَّ وَجْهَهُ شَبَهُ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ وَاللهِ لَا يَظْلِمُكُمْ وَلَا يَحْتَرِيكُمْ وَأَنَا ضَامِنَةٌ لِجَمَلِكُمْ فَأَتَى رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ أَنَا رَسُولُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَيْكُمْ هَذَا تَمْرُكُمْ فَكُلُوا وَاشْبَعُوا وَاكْتَالُوا قَالَ فَأَكَلْنَا وَشَبِعْنَا وَاكْتَلْنَا وَاسْتَوْفَيْنَا ثُمَّ دَخَلْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ فَأَتَيْنَا الْمَسْجِدَ فَإِذَا هُوَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَسَمِعْنَا مِنْ قَوْلِهِ يَقُولُ تَصَدَّقُوا فَإِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ أَبَاكَ وَأُمَّكَ وَأُخْتَكَ وَأَخَاكَ وَأَدْنَاكَ فَأَدْنَاكَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو يَرْبُوعٍ قَتَلُوا رَجُلًا مِنَّا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَأَعْدِنَا عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ يَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا إِنَّ أَبًا لَا يَجْنِي عَلَى وَلَدٍ أَلَا إِنَّ أَبًا لَا يَجْنِي عَلَى وَلَدٍ أَلَا إِنَّ أَبًا لَا يَجْنِي عَلَى وَلَدٍ» ثَلَاثًا
English Translation
A man from the people of Tariq ibn Abdullah said: I was at the market of Dhu al-Majaz when a young man passed by wearing a red striped garment, saying: 'O people, say there is no god but Allah and you will prosper.' A man behind him was pelting him, having bloodied his heels and shins, saying: 'O people, he is a liar, so do not obey him.' I asked: 'Who is this?' They said: 'This is the young man of Banu Hashim who claims he is the Messenger of Allah, and this is his uncle Abdul-Uzza.' When Muhammad (peace be upon him) migrated to Medina and the people accepted Islam, we set out from al-Rabadha that day with a woman of ours. When we reached Medina and came near its walls, we put on different clothes. Then a man on the road asked: 'Where have the people come from?' We said: 'We came to buy dates for our family, and we have a red camel standing with a halter.' He said: 'Will you sell me your camel?' We said: 'Yes.' He said: 'For how much?' We said: 'Such and such sa's of dates.' He did not reduce what we asked at all, and took the camel's halter and went off with it. When he disappeared behind the walls, we said: 'By Allah, we have done nothing! We sold to someone we don't know.' A woman sitting nearby said: 'I saw a man whose face resembles the moon on a full night. By Allah, he will not wrong you or cheat you, and I guarantee your camel.' Then a man came and said: 'I am a messenger from the Messenger of Allah to you. Here are your dates, so eat, be full, and measure out.' So we ate, were satisfied, and measured out our full share. Then we entered Medina and went to the mosque, and there he was giving a sermon on the pulpit. We heard him saying: 'Give charity, for charity is good for you. The upper hand is better than the lower hand. Begin with those you support: your father, your mother, your sister, your brother, and the closest then the next closest.' A man from the Ansar stood and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, these Banu Yarbu' killed a man of ours during the pre-Islamic period, so avenge us against them.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Indeed, no father bears the sin of his child. Indeed, no father bears the sin of his child. Indeed, no father bears the sin of his child' — three times.
