Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8046 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا غَالِبٍ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَابِهَاتٌ} إِلَى {ابْتِغَاءَ تَأْوِيلِهِ} فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «هُمِ الْخَوَارِجُ» وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ} فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنَّهُمِ الْخَوَارِجُ»
English Translation
Abu Ghalib said: I asked Abu Ghalib about this verse: {It is He who sent down to you the Book, in it are verses that are precise, they are the foundation of the Book, and others that are ambiguous} to {seeking its interpretation}. He said: Abu Umamah narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) who said: "They are the Kharijites." And I asked him about this verse: {As for those whose faces turn black - Did you disbelieve after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to reject}. He said: Abu Umamah narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "They are the Kharijites."
