English Translation
Abu Umamah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had a horse which he gave to a man from the Ansar. He used to hear its neighing. Then he noticed it was gone, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) asked him: "What happened to your horse?" He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I gelded it." He said: "Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses and the spoils of war until the Day of Resurrection. Their forelocks are their warmth and their tails are their fly-swatters."
