Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:7852a حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بُعِثْتُ رَحْمَةً وَهَدًى لِلْعَالَمِينَ لِمَحْقِ الْأَوْثَانِ وَالْمَعَازِفِ وَالْمَزَامِيرِ وَأَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ»
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "I was sent as a mercy and guidance to the worlds, to abolish idols, musical instruments, flutes, and the affairs of the pre-Islamic period."
