Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:7624 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ سُورَةَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ومُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ وعُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ قَالَا ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي شَدَّادٌ أَبُو عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا قَاعِدٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَسَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَأَعَادَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ قَالَ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَخَرَجَ قَالَ شَدَّادٌ فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَمْشِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَالرَّجُلُ يَتْبَعُهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «حِينَ خَرَجْتَ مِنْ بَيْتِكَ تَوَضَّأْتَ فَأَحْسَنْتَ؟» قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ «وَشَهِدَتَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَنَا؟» قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ «فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَ حَدَّكَ» أَوْ قَالَ «دَيْنَكَ»
English Translation
Abu Umamah reported: While I was sitting with the Prophet (peace be upon him), a man came and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have committed an offense, so carry out the punishment on me.' The Prophet was silent. He repeated it. Then the prayer was called, and the Messenger of Allah entered and came out. Abu Umamah said: I was walking with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the man was following him saying, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have committed an offense, so carry out the punishment on me.' The Messenger of Allah said, 'When you left your house, did you perform ablution well?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'And did you attend the prayer with us?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Indeed Allah, the Almighty, has forgiven your offense' - or he said, 'your sin.'
