English Translation
Shaddad ibn Aws said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and he said: 'Has any stranger come among you?' — meaning from the People of the Book. We said: 'No.' He then ordered that the door be closed, and said: 'Raise your hands and say: La ilaha illallah.' We raised our hands for a while, then he said: 'Praise be to Allah. O Allah, You sent me with this word, commanded me with it, and promised me Paradise for it. You do not break Your promise.' Then he said: 'Rejoice, for Allah has forgiven you.'
