English Translation
Rafi' ibn Khadij said: My uncle Zuhayr came to us and said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade us from something that was beneficial for us." We said: "What did the Messenger of Allah forbid?" He said: "He forbade renting land for what grows on the banks (of the irrigation channels), or for a set portion." But he said: "There is nothing wrong with (renting for) gold and silver."
