Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:4321 حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ سَوْرَةَ ثنا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ أَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ طَاوُسٍ إِلَى رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ فَسَأَلَهُ طَاوُسٌ عَنْ كَرْيِ الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ «كُنَّا نُعْطِي الْأَرْضَ بِالنِّصْفِ وَالثُّلُثِ عَلَى مَا فِي الرَّبِيعِ وَعَلَى مَا فِي الْبَعْلِ فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ» فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ ضَرَبَ طَاوُسٌ عَلَى يَدَيَّ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَتْ لَكَ أَرْضٌ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
English Translation
Rafi' ibn Sinan came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) — his wife had accepted Islam but he had not — and their daughter was also (young). The Prophet (peace be upon him) seated the father on one side and the mother on another, and placed the girl between them. She inclined toward her mother. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "O Allah, guide her." So she inclined toward her father, and he took her.
