Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3529 حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ثنا ضَمْرَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ رَجَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ مُوسَى وَعَمْرَو بْنَ شُعَيْبٍ تَذَاكَرَا النَّفَلَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ قَالَ عَمْرٌو لَا نَفَلَ بَعْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ سُلَيْمَانُ شَغَلَكَ أَهْلُ الزَّبِيبِ بِالطَّائِفِ حَدَّثَنَا مَكْحُولٌ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «نَفَلَ فِي الْبَدْأَةِ الرُّبُعَ وَفِي الرَّجْعَةِ الثُّلُثَ»
English Translation
Raja' ibn Abi Salamah said: I heard Sulayman ibn Musa and 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb discussing the nafal (extra share) in al-Masjid al-Haram. 'Amr said: 'There is no nafal after the Prophet (peace be upon him).' Sulayman said to him: 'The people of raisins in al-Ta'if have distracted you. Makhul narrated to us from Ziyad ibn Jariyah from Habib ibn Maslamah that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) gave an extra share of one-quarter at the outset and one-third on the return.'
