Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3353 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ §عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ تَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ تَحِيضُ قَالَ «لِيَكُنْ آخِرَ عَهْدِهَا الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ» فَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ كَذَلِكَ أَفْتَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ «أَرِبْتَ عَلَى يَدِكَ سَأَلْتَنِي عَنْ شَيْءٍ قَدْ سَأَلْتَ عَنْهُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَيْمَا أُخَالِفُ»
English Translation
Narrated al-Harith ibn Abdullah ibn Aws al-Thaqafi: I asked Umar ibn al-Khattab about a woman who performs Tawaf around the House then menstruates. He said, 'Let the last thing she does be Tawaf around the House.' Al-Harith said, 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) gave me the same ruling.' Umar said, 'May your hands be ruined! You asked me about something you had already asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), as if to make me contradict him!'
