English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) while the body of Ma'iz ibn Malik was being stoned. A man said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, do you not see how they are stoning him as they would stone a dog?" He remained silent. When three days had passed, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned him and said good of him. He said: "Why did you not let him go? Perhaps he would have repented and Allah would have accepted his repentance."
