Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1553 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا عَنْبَسَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جُبَيْرُ بْنُ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ يَسِيرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَقْفَلَهُ مِنْ حُنَيْنٍ عَلِقَتِ الْأَعْرَابُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْأَلُونَهُ حَتَّى اضْطَرُّوهُ بِسِدْرَةَ خَطِفَتْ رِدَاءَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَقَفَ فَقَالَ «لِلَّهِ أَعْطُونِي رِدَائِي لَوْ كَانَ عَدَدُ هَذِهِ الْعِضَاهِ نَعَمًا لَقَسَّمْتُها بَيْنَكُمْ وَلَمْ تَجِدُونِي بَخِيلًا وَلَا جَبَانًا وَلَا كَذَّابًا»
English Translation
Narrated Jubayr ibn Mut'im: While he was traveling with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on the return from Hunayn, the Bedouins clung to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), asking him until they pressed him against a lote tree, which snatched the cloak of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He stopped and said: "By Allah, give me back my cloak! If I had livestock as numerous as these thorny trees, I would distribute them among you, and you would not find me miserly, nor cowardly, nor a liar."
