Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1283 حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْعَبَّادَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ظُفُرَ عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ مُطَهَّرٍ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ قَالَ صِلَةُ بْنُ أَشْيَمٍ «§أُصِيبَ أَبُو رِفَاعَةَ وَكُنَّا فِي غَزَاةٍ فَرَأَيْتُ كَأَنِّي أَرَى أَبَا رِفَاعَةَ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ سَرِيعَةٍ وَأَنَا عَلَى جَمَلٍ قَطُوفٍ وَأَنَا عَلَى أَثَرِهِ فَيُعَرِّجُها حَتَّى أَقُولَ الْآنَ أُسْمِعُهُ الصَّوْتَ ثُمَّ يُسَرِّحُها فَتَنْطَلِقُ وَأَتْبَعُهُ فَأُوِّلَتْ رُؤْيَاي أَنَّهُ طَرِيقُ أَبِي رِفَاعَةَ آخُذُهُ وَأَنَا أَكَدُّ الْعَمَلَ بَعْدَهُ كَدًّا»
English Translation
Silah ibn Ashyam said: Abu Rifa'ah was killed while we were on a military expedition. I saw as if I were looking at Abu Rifa'ah on a fast she-camel while I was on a slow, trudging camel, following his tracks. He would slow down until I thought I could make him hear my voice, then he would speed off. I interpreted my dream to mean that I follow the path of Abu Rifa'ah, striving hard in worship after him.
