Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1240 حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ الْحَنَفِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْقَطَّانُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ رَاشِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الرَّحَّالُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْعُمَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ بَيْحَرَةُ بْنَ عَامِرٍ قَالَ أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَسْلَمْنَا وَسَأَلْنَاهُ أَنْ يَضَعَ عَنَّا الْعَتَمَةَ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ الْعَتَمَةِ» فَقُلْنَا إِنَّا نُشْغَلُ بِحَلْبِ إِبِلِنَا قَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ سَتَحْلِبُونَ وَتُصَلُّونَ»
English Translation
Bayhara ibn 'Amir said: We came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and accepted Islam, and we asked him to excuse us from the 'Atamah (late night) prayer. He said: "The 'Atamah prayer?" We said: "We are occupied with milking our camels." He said: "Indeed, if Allah wills, you will milk and you will pray."
