Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1230 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا ثنا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالُوا ثنا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ سُمَيْرٍ ثنا بَشِيرُ بْنُ نَهِيكٍ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ الْخَصَاصِيَةِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ زَحْمًا فَهَاجَرَ فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَشِيرًا قَالَ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا أُمَاشِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذْ قَالَ لِي «يَا ابْنَ الْخَصَاصِيَةِ مَا أَصْبَحْتَ تَنْقِمُ عَلَى اللهِ؟» قَالَ مَا أَصْبَحْتُ أَنْقِمُ عَلَى اللهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ كُلٌّ خَيْرٌ صُنِعَ بِي قَالَ ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَى قُبُورِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ «لَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ هَؤُلَاءِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا» قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَى قُبُورِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ «لَقَدْ فَاتَ هَؤُلَاءِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا» قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ حَانَتْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَظْرَةٌ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ يَمْشِي عَلَى الْقُبُورِ عَلَيْهِ نَعْلَانِ فَنَادَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَا صَاحِبَ السِّبْتِيَّتَيْنِ اخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ» فَنَظَرَ الرَّجُلُ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَخَلَعَ الرَّجُلُ نَعْلَيْهِ فَرَمَى بِهِمَا وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ مُسْلِمٍ
English Translation
Bashir ibn Nahik narrated from Bashir ibn al-Khasasiyyah: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) - his name in the pre-Islamic period was Zahm, then he emigrated and the Messenger of Allah named him Bashir - said: While I was walking alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), he said to me: "O Ibn al-Khasasiyyah, what do you have to complain about to Allah?" He said: "I have nothing to complain about to Allah. Everything good has been done for me." Then we came upon the graves of the Muslims, and he said: "These have attained much good" - three times. Then we came upon the graves of the polytheists, and he said: "These have missed much good" - three times. Then the Messenger of Allah glanced and saw a man walking on the graves wearing sandals. The Prophet called out: "O wearer of the leather sandals, remove your sandals!" The man looked and saw the Messenger of Allah, so he removed his sandals and threw them away.
