English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated that the husband of Barirah was a slave named Mughith. It is as if I can see him following her, crying, with his tears flowing down his beard. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to al-Abbas: 'O Abbas, are you not amazed at the intensity of Mughith's love for Barirah and the intensity of Barirah's hatred for Mughith?' The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to her: 'Would you take him back? He is the father of your child.' She said: 'O Messenger of Allah, are you commanding me?' He said: 'I am only interceding.' She said: 'I have no need for him.'
