English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated that the garment of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) got caught on a tree on the day of Hunayn while the people were gathering around him asking him for spoils. The Prophet (peace be upon him) thought that they were holding his cloak and said: 'Let go of my cloak! Do you want to make me appear miserly? By Allah, if Allah granted you as many livestock as the trees of Tihamah, I would distribute them among you, and you would not find me miserly, nor cowardly, nor a liar.' They said: 'It was only a thorny tree that caught his garment,' and they freed it.
