Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11505 حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَانُوا مَعَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَكَثَّرُوا سَوَادَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَيَأْتِي السَّهْمُ برمايةٍ فَيُصِيبُ أَحَدَهُمْ فَيَقْتُلُهُ أَوْ يُضْرَبُ فَيُقْتَلُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ فِيهِمْ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ظَالِمِي أَنْفُسِه��مْ قَالُوا فِيمَ كُنْتُمْ قَالُوا كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ} الْآيَةَ
English Translation
Some Muslims were with the polytheists, increasing their numbers. An arrow would be shot and hit one of them, killing him, or he would be struck and killed. So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed about them: {Indeed, those whom the angels take in death while wronging themselves — they will say: In what condition were you? They will say: We were oppressed in the land} [4:97].
