Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11393 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَشْعَثِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا عَضَّ يَدَ رَجُلٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَانْتَزَعَ ثَنِيَّتَهُ «فَأَهْدَرَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ» هَكَذَا رَوَا��ُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهِمَ فِيهِ وَرَوَاهُ أَصْحَابُ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ أَصْحَابُ عَطَاءٍ وَهُوَ الصَّوَابُ
English Translation
A man bit another man's hand during the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and (the bitten man) pulled away and dislodged the biter's front tooth. The Prophet (peace be upon him) declared it void (with no compensation). This is how Sa'id ibn Amr narrated it from Sufyan, from Amr, from Ata, from Ibn Abbas — he erred in it. The companions of Ibn Uyaynah narrated it from Ibn Uyaynah from Amr from Ata from Safwan ibn Ya'la ibn Umayyah from his father, and that is the correct version.
