Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11358 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ النَّسَائِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ثنا عَوْنُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الصَّائِغِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ انْتَظَرُوا الصَّلَاةَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَرَقَدُوا ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ وَقَالَ «لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ أَنْ يُؤَخِّرُوا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ إِلَى هَذِهِ السَّاعَةِ» فَنَظَرْنَا فَإِذَا هُوَ شَطْرُ اللَّيْلِ
English Translation
They waited for the prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the mosque and fell asleep, then woke up three times. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out and prayed Isha, saying: 'Were it not that I would make it difficult for the people, I would have ordered them to delay this prayer to this hour.' We looked and it was the middle of the night.
