Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11167 حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَا ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي شُعَيْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا مِسْكِينُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي حَرَّةَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ مَاءٍ عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ مَاءُ زَمْزَمَ فِيهِ طَعَامٌ مِنَ الطُّعْمِ وَشِفَاءٌ مِنَ السُّقْمِ وَشَرُّ مَاءٍ عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ مَاءٌ بِوَادِي بَرَهُوتٍ بَقِيَّةُ حَضْرَمَوْتَ كَرِجْلِ الْجَرَادِ مِنَ الْهَوَامِّ يُصْبِحُ يَتَدَفَّقُ وَيُمْسِي لَا بَلَالَ بِهَا»
English Translation
Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The best water on the face of the earth is the water of Zamzam. In it is nourishment from food and healing from sickness. And the worst water on the face of the earth is the water in the valley of Barhut in the remnant of Hadramawt - like the feet of locusts from vermin - it flows in the morning and by evening there is nothing left in it.'
