Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11140 حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ التَّمَّارُ ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَاجٍ عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَعِكْرِمَةَ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ ذُكِرَ الْمَسْحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ عِنْدَ عُمَرَ وَسَعْدٍ وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ وَسَعْدٌ أَفْقَهُ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَا سَعْدُ أَمَا تَذْكُرُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ مَسَحَ» وَلَكِنْ هَلْ مَسَحَ مُنْذُ نَزَلَتْ سُورَةُ الْمَائِدَةِ
English Translation
Ibn Abbas said: The wiping over leather socks was mentioned in the presence of Umar and Sa'd and Abdullah ibn Umar. Umar said that Sa'd was more knowledgeable. Ibn Abbas said: O Sa'd, do you not remember that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did wipe? But did he wipe after Surah al-Ma'idah was revealed?
