Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10958 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا رَمَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لِأَنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ رَأَوْا بِهِ جَهْدًا وَبِأَصْحَابِهِ فَرَمَلَ»
English Translation
Ibn Abbas said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) performed ramal (brisk walking) around the Ka'bah and between Safa and Marwa because the polytheists saw that he and his companions were in hardship, so he performed ramal.'
