حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، كَانَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حِينَ يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ وَيُنَادِي الْمُنَادِي، قَالَ أَيُّوبُ: وَأُرَاهُ، قَالَ: خَفِيفَتَيْنِ.
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn 'Umar said (may Allah be well pleased with him and his father):“Hadrat Hafsa said: 'Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to perform two cycles of ritual prayer when the dawn was rising, and the caller was calling'. And Ayyub (upon him be peace) said, “I think he described the two prayer cycles as abbreviated.”
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبد اللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے بتایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم فجر نمودار ہونے اور اذان ہونے پر دو رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے۔ ایوب نے کہا: میرا خیال ہے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا ہلکی دو رکعتیں۔
