نا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ:" يُطَلِّقُ الْحُرُّ الأَمَةَ ثَلاثَ تَطْلِيقَاتٍ، وَتَعْتَدُّ حَيْضَتَيْنِ، وَيُطَلِّقُ الْمَمْلُوكُ الْحُرَّةُ تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ، وَتَعْتَدُّ ثَلاثَ حِيَضٍ، فَالثَّلاثُ بِالرِّجَالِ، وَالْعِدَّةُ بِالنِّسَاءِ".
English Translation
Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib said: "A free man may divorce a slave-woman three times, and she observes a waiting period of two menstrual periods. A slave may divorce a free woman twice, and she observes a waiting period of three menstrual periods. So the number of divorces follows the men, and the waiting period follows the women."
Urdu Translation
حضرت سعید بن المسیب رحمہ اللہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا: آزاد مرد لونڈی کو تین طلاق دے سکتا ہے اور اس کی عدت دو حیض ہے، غلام آزادہ عورت کو دو طلاق دے سکتا ہے اور اس کی عدت تین حیض ہے، پس طلاق مردوں کے ساتھ ہے اور عدت عورتوں کی۔[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب الطلاق/حدیث: 2508]
