Arabic (Original)
نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَعُبَيْدَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُمَا قَالا:" إِذَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ لامْرَأَتِهِ: اعْتَدِّي وَهُوَ يَنْوِي الطَّلاقَ , قَالا: وَاحِدَةٌ، وَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَنْوِ طَلاقًا فَلَيْسَ بِشَيْءٍ".
English Translation
Al-Hasan al-Basri and 'Ubaydah said: "If a man tells his wife 'Observe your waiting period' intending divorce, it counts as one divorce and he has the right to take her back. If he did not intend divorce, it counts for nothing."
Urdu Translation
حضرت حسن بصری اور عبیدہ رحمہما اللہ نے فرمایا: اگر شوہر نیت طلاق کرے تو یہ ایک طلاق ہے، اور اگر نیت نہ ہو تو کچھ نہیں۔[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب الطلاق/حدیث: 2412]
