Arabic (Original)
وعن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه قال: أتى رجل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: أي الناس أفضل؟ قال: "مؤمن يجاهد بنفسه وماله في سبيل الله" قال: ثم من؟ قال: "مؤمن في شعب من الشعاب يعبد الله ويدع الناس من شره" ((متفق عليه))
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that a man came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said, "Who is the best among men?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) replied, "A believer who strives in the way of Allah with his wealth and life." The man asked again, "Who is next to him (in excellence)?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "Next to him is a man who is engaged in worshipping his Rubb in a mountain valley, leaving the people secure from his mischief.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو کر عرض کیا: لوگوں میں سب سے افضل کون ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: وہ مومن جو اللہ کی راہ میں اپنی جان اور مال سے جہاد کرے۔ اس نے عرض کیا: پھر کون؟ ارشاد فرمایا: وہ مومن جو کسی پہاڑی درے میں اللہ کی عبادت کرے اور لوگوں کو اپنے شر سے محفوظ رکھے۔ (متفق علیہ)
