Arabic (Original)
وعن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ما من أيام العمل الصالح فيها أحب إلى الله من هذه الأيام" يعني أيام العشر، قالوا: يا رسول الله ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله؟ قال: "ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله، إلا رجل خرج بنفسه، وماله فلم يرجع من ذلك بشيء" ((رواه البخاري)).
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "There are no days during which the righteous action is so pleasing to Allah than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah)." He was asked: "O Beloved Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) replied, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with either of it.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: 'کوئی دن ایسا نہیں جن میں نیک عمل اللہ کو (ذوالحجہ کے) ان دس دنوں سے زیادہ محبوب ہو۔' صحابہ نے عرض کیا: اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد بھی نہیں؟ ارشاد فرمایا: 'اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد بھی نہیں، مگر وہ شخص جو اپنی جان اور مال لے کر نکلے اور کچھ بھی واپس نہ آئے۔'
