Arabic (Original)
وعن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه أن رجلا أصاب من امرأة قُبلةً، فأتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأخبره فأنزل الله تعالى: {أقم الصلاة طرفي النهار وزلفًا من الليل، إن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات} فقال الرجل: ألي هذا؟ قال: "لجميع أمتي كلهم" ((متفق عليه)).
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that a man kissed a woman. So he came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and informed him about it. Then Allah revealed this Ayah: "And perform the Salat, between the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds efface the evil deeds (i.e., minor sins)." (11:114) The man asked the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) whether this applies to him only. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "It applies to all of my Ummah.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص نے کسی عورت کو بوسہ دے لیا، پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور بتایا۔ تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت نازل فرمائی: 'دن کے دونوں کناروں میں اور رات کے کچھ حصوں میں نماز قائم کرو، بے شک نیکیاں برائیوں کو مٹا دیتی ہیں۔' اس شخص نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا یہ صرف میرے لیے ہے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: 'میری پوری اُمت کے لیے ہے۔'
