Arabic (Original)
وعن البراء بن عازب رضي الله عنهما قال: كان رجل يقرأ سورة الكهف، وعنده فرس مربوط بشطنين فتغشته سحابة فجعلت تدنو، وجعل فرسه ينفر منها. فلما أصبح أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فذكر له ذلك فقال : " تلك السكينة تنزلت للقرآن" ((متفق عليه)) .
English Translation
Al-Bara' bin 'Azib (may Allah be well pleased with them) reported that a man was reciting Surat Al-Kahf, and a horse was tied with two ropes beside him. As he was reciting, a cloud overshadowed him, and as it began to come nearer and nearer, the horse began to trample voilently. The man came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in the morning and mentioned the incident to him. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "That was tranquillity which descended as a result of the recitation of the Qur'an." .
Urdu Translation
حضرت براء بن عازب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص سورۃ الکہف کی تلاوت کر رہا تھا اور اس کے پاس ایک گھوڑا دو رسیوں سے بندھا ہوا تھا۔ ایک بادل آیا اور قریب ہونے لگا اور گھوڑا بدکنے لگا۔ صبح ہوئی تو وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور یہ واقعہ بیان کیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: 'یہ سکینت تھی جو قرآن (کی تلاوت) کی وجہ سے نازل ہوئی۔'
