وعن أبي العباس سهل بن سعد الساعدي رضي الله عنه ، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بلغه أن بني عمرو بن عوف كان بينهم شر، فخرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلح بينهم في أناس معه ، فحبس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وحانت الصلاة، فهل لك أن تؤم الناس؟ قال: نعم إن شئت، فأقام بلال الصلاة، وتقدم أبو بكر فكبر وكبر الناس،وجاء رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يمشي في الصفوف حتى قام في الصف، فأخذ الناس في التصفيق، وكان أبو بكر رضي الله عنه لا يلتفت في صلاته، فلما أكثر الناس التصفيق التفت، فإذا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فأشار إليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فرفع أبو بكر رضي الله عنه يده فحمد الله، ورجع القهقرى وراءه حتى قام في الصف، فتقدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فصلى للناس، فلما فرغ أقبل على الناس فقال: "أيها الناس ما لكم حين نابكم شيء في الصلاة أخذتم في التصفيق ؟ إنما التصفيق للنساء. من نابه شيء في صلاته فليقل سبحان الله، فإنه لا يسمعه أحد حين يقول سبحان الله إلا التفت، : يا أبا بكر: ما منعك أن تصلي الناس حين أشرت إليك؟" فقال أبو بكر: ما كان ينبغي لابن أبي قحافة أن يصلي بالناس بين يدي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. ((متفق عليه)). (20).
English Translation
Hadrat Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported:There was some quarrel among the members of Banu 'Amr bin 'Auf. Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) went with some of his Companions to bring about peace between them and he was detained. The time for Salat approached and Hadrat Bilal (may Allah be well pleased with them) went to Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) and said to him: "Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) has got late and it is the time for Salat. Will you lead Salat?" He said: "Yes, if you desire". Hadrat Bilal (may Allah be well pleased with him) proclaimed the Adhan and then pronounced Iqamah. Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) stepped forward and commenced As- Salat. (He recited Takbir and the people followed him). In the meantime, Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) arrived and, passing through the rows, took his stand in the first row. The people started clapping. It was the habit of Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) that whenever he started praying, he would never look round. He paid no heed (to the clapping). When the clapping increased, he turned round and saw Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) beckoned him to continue performing Salat. But Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) raised his hands and praised Allah. Then he retreated, taking his steps backwards. When Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saw that, he went ahead and led Salat. When he finished Salat, he faced the congregation and said, "Why do you clap when something happens during the Salat. Clapping is only for women. If something happens in the course of Salat you should say, Subhan Allah. It is bound to attract attention. And you, Hadrat Abu Bakr, what prevented you from carrying on with Salat, after I beckoned to do so?" He said, "It was not becoming for the son of Abu Quhafah to lead Salat in the presence of Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)"..
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوالعباس سہل بن سعد ساعدی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ بنی عمرو بن عوف میں کچھ جھگڑا ہو گیا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کچھ اصحاب کو لے کر ان میں صلح کرانے تشریف لے گئے اور دیر ہو گئی۔ نماز کا وقت آ گیا تو حضرت بلال رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پاس آئے اور کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو دیر ہو گئی اور نماز کا وقت ہو گیا، کیا آپ لوگوں کی امامت کرائیں گے؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں، اگر تم چاہو۔ حضرت بلال رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے اقامت کہی اور حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ آگے بڑھے اور تکبیر کہی اور لوگوں نے بھی تکبیر کہی۔ اتنے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور صفوں میں سے ہوتے ہوئے پہلی صف میں کھڑے ہو گئے۔ لوگ تالیاں بجانے لگے۔ حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نماز میں ادھر ادھر نہیں دیکھتے تھے۔ جب تالیاں بہت بڑھیں تو انہوں نے دیکھا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں اشارہ فرمایا (کہ نماز پڑھاتے رہو)۔ حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ہاتھ اٹھائے اور اللہ کی حمد بیان کی اور پیچھے ہٹتے ہوئے صف میں آ کھڑے ہوئے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم آگے بڑھے اور لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائی۔ نماز سے فارغ ہو کر لوگوں کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا: لوگو! تمہیں کیا ہوا کہ جب نماز میں کوئی بات پیش آئی تو تالیاں بجانے لگے؟ تالی تو عورتوں کے لیے ہے۔ جسے نماز میں کوئی بات پیش آئے وہ سبحان اللہ کہے کیونکہ جب سبحان اللہ سنے گا تو ہر کوئی متوجہ ہوگا۔ اے حضرت ابوبکر! جب میں نے تمہیں اشارہ کیا تو تمہیں لوگوں کو نماز پڑھانے سے کس چیز نے روکا؟ حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: ابوقحافہ کے بیٹے کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی موجودگی میں نماز پڑھانا زیب نہیں دیتا۔
