Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ السَّقِيمَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَالْكَبِيرَ فَإِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ لِنَفْسِهِ فَلْيُطَوِّلْ مَا شَاءَ " .
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated:"When any one of you leads the people in prayer, let him make it short, for among them are the sick, the weak and the elderly. And when any one of you prays by himself, let him make it as long as he wishes
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جب تم میں سے کوئی لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائے تو ہلکی پڑھائے، کیونکہ ان میں بیمار، کمزور اور بوڑھے لوگ بھی ہوتے ہیں، اور جب کوئی تنہا نماز پڑھے تو جتنی چاہے لمبی کرے ۔
