Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطَّرَائِفِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَضَى فِي الْمُكَاتَبِ أَنْ يُودَى بِقَدْرِ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ دِيَةَ الْحُرِّ .
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with him) that:the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) of Allah ruled that the Diyah for a Mukatab should be (equivalent) to the Diyah for a free man, proportionate to the amount he had paid off (toward buying his freedom)
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مکاتب کے بارے میں فیصلہ فرمایا کہ اس کی دیت آزاد شخص کی دیت کے مطابق ہوگی اتنے حصے میں جتنا وہ آزاد ہو چکا ہو۔
